What does a typical day look like for the Pension Accounting Lead?

  • Act as a 'trusted business advisor' by providing accounting guidance on pension matters.
  • Maintain a globally harmonized pension process.
  • Collaborate with other global accounting teams and areas of the business including Treasury and Actuaries.
  • Prepare and present quarterly results to senior management.
  • Ensure recording of all transactions is in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, the company's accounting policies, and local statutory principles.
  • Coordinate and review the 10-K and 10-Q pension-related SEC disclosures.
  • Support external auditors on inquiries related to pension matters.

What qualifications do you look for?

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP accounting rules.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Professional level of understanding of business dynamics that affect pension plans, and pension valuations and calculations.
  • Previous experience with external disclosures of 10-Q and 10-K’s and Treasury Functions.
  • Previous experience providing and presenting comprehensive and meaningful information and accounting guidance to the various stakeholders noted above.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work independently and support senior executives on accounting matters in a timely fashion.
