So, what will the Maritime and Logistics Advisor at Terrestris do?
Big picture, A Maritime Maintenance and Logistical Advisor (MMLA) is needed in Mozambique to assist the Mozambican Navy (primarily) and the SERNIC (secondarily) in improving its operational readiness and capability and capacity to patrol its territorial waters and Economic Exclusion Zone; support the larger interagency strategy seeking to (1) develop a capable, a professional, and a willing maritime partner to defend against transnational threats and (2) to enhance the capacity of Mozambican institutions to respond to security threats that will contribute to regional and domestic peace and security while adhering to the rule of law and human rights principles.
Embed and support the Mozambique Navy as well as SERNIC when they are in a supporting role to the Navy for maritime interdiction efforts to build an indigenous training capability, support Boat Repairs (specifically SAFEBOATs, Indian Ocean offshore patrol vessels (OPVs), and rubber hulled inflatable boats (RHIBs)) and repairs to trailers and prime movers and to assist in creating a sustainable logistics capacity within the Navy for vessels and onshore equipment (such as Regional Maritime Awareness Capability (RMAC) maritime domain awareness (MDA) systems).
