Our client is looking for an experienced Combat Arms Instructor SME to better execute the missions of other Special Operations Forces (SOF) that they will work with. The work and maintenance provided by the support members is pivotal to the successful completion of the mission, ultimately producing combat-ready Special Tactics operators. This is an onsite position in Hurlburt Field, FL.
Job Tasks
Perform in-depth equipment checks and provide detailed maintenance, repair, or declare equipment unserviceable. Disassemble weapons/assemblies/subassemblies. Examine for defects, mechanical misalignment and malfunctions. Inspect bores for bulges/pits and cracks. Use hand tools, precision gauges and test instruments, jigs and alignment devices.
Inspect all unit equipment and work directly with either base support or local equipment maintenance for the repair and/or replacement of unit’s equipment when work cannot be done in house.
Handle small arms and associated small arms munitions when instructing students. Instructors will demonstrate weapons fire on light and heavy weapons systems and shall ensure safe training operations.
Develops and maintains the unit’s explosive safety program, making changes to procedures as required. Conducts no-notice spot inspections of munitions storage. Conducts formal initial and annual explosive training to designated personnel on hazards and handling of munitions items. Assist the squadron safety officer in the documentation of mishaps and the reporting to higher headquarters.
Inspect all unit equipment and work directly with either base support or local equipment maintenance for the repair and/or replacement of unit’s equipment when work cannot be done in house. Must have knowledge of weapon inspection procedures on all weapons designated in para. 1.8. Determine serviceability condition, modifications required and extent of repairs necessary to place weapon back into service.
Ensure weapons equipment program meets regulatory guidance concerning accountability, maintenance, environmental, control, and issuance.
Perform duties as a Control Area Monitor (CAM). Act as a single point of contact for dealing with controlled area issues.
Responsible for ensuring all weapons equipment is in good working order and prepared for mission/training use. Possess technical knowledge necessary to properly maintain an armory, conduct inventories, act as equipment custodian, and generate necessary reports mentioned below.
Ensure a semi-annual reconciliation of all weapons.
Minimum Requirements
Previous experience with an SEI Code of 312 (7 level CATM Instructor) or SOF sister service equivalent.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a SOF Weapons instructor.
Current DOD Secret Clearance
