Our client is looking for an experienced Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) support instructional systems design throughout the Product Lifecycle Process, which incorporates the ADDIE methodology across all divisions of ST. This is a hybrid position with occasional visits to Quantico, VA.

Job Tasks

  • Shall incorporate the ADDIE methodology and provide the expertise to recommend and implement new approaches/strategies.
  • Develop and document processes, procedures and best practices, incorporating the ADDIE methodology.
  • Enable the production of instructional delivery across a variety of training delivery platforms.
  • Aid in meeting product development milestones and shall ensure deliverable timelines are met. This includes any requirements for IS EVD-centric Needs Assessments; Training Needs Analyses (TNA) identifying desired competencies, training requirements, goals, learning objectives, topics, instructional strategies, media selection, and training recommendations; design documents, Programs of Instruction (POIs), storyboards, classroom materials, and assessments; assist with the development of course content, case studies, exercises, knowledge checks, a written narrative (scrip) for each unique element, and conduct Alpha and Beta tests to create and maintain current, accurate, relevant content as directed by the Government.
  • Provide technical expertise to recommend and implement instructional approaches and strategies to achieve IS EVD’s desired curriculum and enable complete, effective, efficient, and accessible knowledge transfer to students.
  • Follow instructional and workforce development processes, to ensure products are instructionally sound and engaging, promote course assessments to effectively measure the student proficiency with the learning objective, and ensure processes and products are compliant with requirements.
  • Develop and update assessments for courses.
  • Conduct cause analyses and design and conduct investigations to find out why a gap exists between the current and desired performances. They shall look for and document the underlying causes.
  • Evaluate results and impact and help select the appropriate measures; develop a measurement strategy that leverages data already being collected; collect data; analyze the data; summarize, and report data, as needed.
  • Develop and update course storyboards and supporting narratives/scripts, which specify the flow for audio and text of all content, for inclusion in the final course product.
  • Develop job aids and handouts to supplement and summarize e-Learning course content for inclusion into the final course product.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current Personnel (Security) Clearance/ Eligibility (PCL) at the Top Secret level with SCI security clearance/eligibility
  • A Master's degree in Instructional Systems Design or Adult Education from an accredited university and at least three (3) years of experience designing and developing instructor-led courses, virtual instructor-led courses, self-paced eLearning courses, and performance support tools

OR

  • In lieu of a Master's degree, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and at least eight (8) years of experience designing and developing instructor-led courses, virtual instructor-led courses, self-paced eLearning courses, and performance support tools
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience applying the ADDIE methodology and following a system process for assessment and development of formal training solutions, including, but not limited do, designing courses or curriculums and creating education/training material, such as teaching manuals, student guides, job aids, learning activities, skills assessments, and quizzing/testing mechanisms
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in close collaboration with customers to turn training requirements needs and expectations into comprehensive and well-articulated distance-delivered courses
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience writing, editing, and reviewing a wide range of courseware, documents, and publications
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience leading instructional development projects

Preferred Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of experience applying the ADDIE methodology in Instructional Systems Design and developing online, instructor-led, or instructor-facilitated courses
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working in close collaboration with customers to turn training requirements needs and expectations into comprehensive and well-articulated distance-delivered courses
  • Five (5) or more years of experience writing, editing, and reviewing a wide range of courseware, documents, and publications
