Our client is currently seeking an Operational Test & Evaluation (T&E) Support Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess the experience, vision, commitment, and integrity to successfully support the strategic goals of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). This position provides RDT&E support working with government test and evaluation (T&E) project managers to test, evaluate, and assess emerging and commercial technology in operational and laboratory settings with the purpose of developing new tools and capabilities to help first responders prepare, protect, and respond to homeland security threats. This position is onsite in New York, NY or offsite with travel.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Provide engineering support to DHS S&T T&E programs and projects.
  • Assist with customer requirement gathering.
  • Assist with the development of test strategies, drafting of test plans, execution of testing, and collection and analysis of test data.
  • Facilitate feedback sessions and assist with development of test reports and other technical documents.
  • Develop project documents (e.g., charters, management plans, reports, etc.).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of relevant experience or Associate’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in government test and evaluation of technology in operational and laboratory settings.
  • Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance and DHS Suitability.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Operational, programmatic, or management experience supporting DoD and/or DHS components (e.g., TSA, CBP, FPS, CISA, CWMD, USCG, ICE).
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment, demonstrate teamwork and initiative, and function productively in the face of new assignments and the re-prioritization of existing assignments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, targeting both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating, documenting and producing follow up materials for collaborative meetings.
  • Demonstrated experience working in technical and operational integrated product teams.
  • Ability to facilitate feedback discussions to effectively elicit inputs to data collection results.
  • Experience providing guidance, feedback, and consulting services to federal program managers.
  • Excellent public speaking and ability to run effective group discussions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • An active Secret Security Clearance and DHS Suitability.
