The ideal candidate will possess the experience, vision, commitment, and integrity to successfully support the strategic goals of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). This position provides surge support for technical and strategic guidance related to the planning and execution of laboratory research activities. This is a remote/offsite position.

In this role you will be expected to:

Participate in regular project status meetings.
Provide oversight for research and development (R&D) program tasks, schedule, regulatory compliance, and strategy.
Provide assessments of requirements and gaps, technical engineering support for facility projects, and responses to newly identified issues.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Ability to obtain DHS Suitability

Desired Qualifications:

Operational, programmatic or management experience supporting DoD and/or DHS components (e.g., TSA, CBP, FPS, CISA, CWMD, USCG, ICE).
Ability to work collaboratively in a high pressure, fast paced atmosphere.
Experience supporting DHS components and agencies.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience with program/project management.
Experience writing and editing technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
