Our client is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer – Bio Decontamination. The ideal candidate will possess the experience, vision, commitment, and integrity to successfully support the strategic goals of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). This position leverages expertise in biocontainment and biological decontamination to provide technical and management support for decontamination of high biocontainment facilities. This is a remote/offsite position.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the decontamination of biologically contaminated areas and materials, especially biocontainment facilities.
  • Provide technical management support for ongoing decontamination activities, including support of the assessment of decontamination technologies.
  • Provide planning, technical expertise and management support for sampling efforts to assess results of decontamination activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree and 18 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective, large-scale decontamination of biological agents using a range of methodologies, including assessment of effectiveness.
  • Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Ability to obtain DHS Suitability.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Operational, programmatic or management experience supporting DoD and/or DHS components (e.g., TSA, CBP, FPS, CISA, CWMD, USCG, ICE).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high pressure, fast paced atmosphere.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with program/project management.
  • Experience writing and editing technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • DHS suitability.
