What does a typical day look like for the Capture Manager?

  • Identify bid opportunities through direct interaction with existing and prospective customers as well as through a broad range of industry forums and government procurement resources.
  • Establish relationships with multiple Federal agencies, e.g., FAA, DHS, DOE, DOJ, NASA, VA.
  • Prepare and present company capability statements and other new business information presentations.
  • Present information and become a recognized thought leader with respect to program pursuit, proposal responses, win themes, technical discriminators, innovative business solutions and strategies, and pricing.
  • Secure senior management commitment and corporate resources for capture and proposal efforts.
  • Populate, validate, update, and implement the capture plan.
  • Conduct, manage or obtain the competitive and price-to-win analysis.
  • Work in close collaboration with the organization's product/service subject matter experts, sales and marketing, and finance departments.
  • Identify the need for or benefits of teaming partners and the associated oversight of required agreements.
  • Develop capture strategy with the program manager and proposal manager.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and actively participate and produce material in the proposal development, solutions, and pricing.
  • Provide expertise in developing annual sales goals and long-term forecasts.

What qualifications do you look for?

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 10+ years of Business Development and Capture experience with a proven win ratio.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain a customer and industry participant network.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM system.
  • Experience mining and leveraging Sam.gov, GovWin, Bloomberg, GSA, and other similar systems.
  • Experience working with various Federal civil agencies.
  • Experience and understanding of how the Federal government agencies procure technology and service-based solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both technical and analytical domains and experience identifying bid opportunities and leading proposal responses.
  • Efficiency in the use of Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is required.
  • Ability to rapidly qualify leads to maintain focus on core company strategic pursuits.
  • Capable of presenting new technologies and ideas to decision-makers.
  • Capable of writing win themes and leading responses to Federal solicitations.
  • Possess the ability to understand and solve the client’s business problem.
  • Ability to engage clients, track and qualify new opportunities and run full lifecycle Capture.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills and ability to document strategic programs and initiatives to stakeholders and executive management alike.
