Our client is looking for an experienced Vehicle Maintenance SME to better execute the missions of other Special Operations Forces (SOF) that they will work with. The work and maintenance provided by the support members is pivotal to the successful completion of the mission, ultimately producing combat-ready Special Tactics operators. This is an onsite position in Hurlburt Field, FL.

Job Tasks

  • Perform in-depth equipment checks and provide detailed maintenance, repair, or declare equipment unserviceable IAW with TO 36-1-191 and individual vehicle manuals.
  • Inspect all unit vehicles and equipment and coordinate directly with 1 SOLRS for the repair and or replacement of the unit’s GSA trucks and vans, HMMWV, and LMTVs.
  • Ensure motorized equipment program meets regulatory guidance per AFI 24-302 Vehicle Management and TO 36-1-191 Technical and Managerial Reference for Motor Vehicle Maintenance concerning, accountability and maintenance.
  • Subject Matter Expert for motorized equipment and accessories and shall utilize an Equipment Accountability Database or spreadsheet to track equipment utilization, maintenance time/costs, and repair time/costs. Performs preventative/scheduled maintenance program for assigned equipment.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all motorized equipment are in good working order and prepared for mission/training use.
  • Perform functional tests, analyze performance and malfunctions, remove, install, test, maintain, modify, perform fault isolation, verify or adjust mechanical assemblies and components.
  • Full working knowledge of all vehicle safety regulations and procedures. Fully capable and certified to operate ATV and motorcycles or complete the unit’s in-house certification.
  • Receive additional specific small engine repair training and forklift driving certification through On-The-Job training. Records of training, qualifications and certification shall be maintained.
  • Submit inventory reports of all STTS motorized equipment and accessories to include the equipment’s status for operational/training readiness.
  • Develop briefings and information papers related to maintenance and operational problems for dissemination to STTS personnel.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a 7 level in USAF Vehicle Management career field (AFSC 2T371) or at least 5 years’ experience in a sister service vehicle management career field. SOF experience preferred.
  • DOD Secret clearance is required
  • Certified in:
    • Polaris MRZR
    • Polaris ATV
    • LMTV
    • HMMWV
    • SSAVIE certified (SSAVIE is how we order parts)
    • High Pressure Hydraulic Lift certified
