Our client is currently seeking an Operational Test & Evaluation (T&E) Support Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess the experience, vision, commitment, and integrity to successfully support the strategic goals of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). This position provides RDT&E Engineer support, working with government T&E project managers to test, evaluate, and assess emerging and commercial technologies in operational and laboratory settings with the purpose of developing new tools and capabilities to help first responders prepare, protect, and respond to homeland security threats. This position is onsite in New York, NY.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Assist Program Managers (PMs) to test, evaluate, and assess emerging and commercial technology in operational and laboratory settings.
  • Assist in development of test strategies for anticipated test activities.
  • Assist in the drafting of test plan activities.
  • Assist in the drafting of test planning documents.
  • Assist in the execution of tests and various field assessments.
  • Collect and analyze test data, help formulate results, and facilitate test participant feedback.
  • Draft and edit test reports and other technical documents.
  • Develop project documents such as charters and project management plans, weekly and monthly reports, and other reporting documents.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of relevant experience or Associate’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in government test and evaluation of technology in laboratory setting.
  • Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance and DHS Suitability.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Operational, programmatic, or management experience supporting DoD and/or DHS components (e.g., TSA, CBP, FPS, CISA, CWMD, USCG, ICE).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high pressure, fast paced atmosphere.
  • Demonstrated experience assisting the development and execution of Testing & Evaluation (T&E) strategies and drafting reporting documents.
  • Demonstrated experience working in technical and operational integrated product teams.
  • Experience supporting DHS components and agencies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • An active Secret Security Clearance and DHS Suitability.
