The ideal candidate will possess the experience, vision, commitment, and integrity to successfully support the strategic goals of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). This position provides technical editing support for RDT&E programs and projects, ensuring that all presentations, documentation, reports, and other materials are accurate and meet the expected standards of quality. This position is onsite in New York, NY or offsite with travel.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Providing technical editing support for a variety of documents geared towards internal and external audiences.
  • Providing technical editing support to RDT&E programs and project teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of relevant experience or Associate’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance and DHS Suitability.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Operational, programmatic, or management experience supporting DoD and/or DHS components (e.g., TSA, CBP, FPS, CISA, CWMD, USCG, ICE).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high pressure, fast paced atmosphere.
  • Experience supporting DHS components and agencies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience writing and editing technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • An active Secret Security Clearance and DHS Suitability.
