You will primarily provide support to the Unit Ministry Team programs and worship services.
Some specific duties include coordinating Unit Ministry Team activities; maintaining physical security of Unit Ministry Team facilities/equipment; safeguarding privileged communications and offerings; arranging religious retreats and memorial ceremonies; supporting the Unit Ministry Team readiness program; and maintaining Chaplain vestments and religious items. This is a full-time role in Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Edgewood MD.
Job Duties/Skills:
Operate communication equipment and digital reporting systems.
Assist in planning religious support operations and deployments.
Maintain reports, files, and administrative data for religious operations.
Conduct specialized peer counseling for combat stress casualties.
Interest in organization and keeping accurate records.
Experience operating typewriters, computers, and other office machines
Ability to organize and plan.
Demonstrate a familiarity with and a commitment to support the Christian Faith and practices.
The ability to communicate effectively with chaplains, volunteers (to include parents and youth), and government representatives in English orally and in written format (i.e., advertising and marketing, instructions, invoices, etc.).
The ability to work with multiple congregations & faith groups. Effective interaction with individuals from different religious faith groups is imperative.
Requirements:
Hold a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Religious Education or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the areas of religious education coordination and teaching faith formation programs.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently and clearly with excellent comprehension.
Experience in military chapel programs is preferred as the position relates to interacting with military families and staff continuously.
Be able to obtain a government issued Common Access Card (CAC) and base access.
Religious ed coordination and teaching faith programs: 2 years (Required)
Chaplain assistant: 3 years (Required)
Military chaplain corps: 3 years (Required)
