Our client is currently seeking an Operational Test & Evaluation (T&E) Junior Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess the experience, vision, commitment, and integrity to successfully support the strategic goals of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). This position provides RDT&E support working with government test and evaluation (T&E) project managers to test, evaluate, and assess emerging and commercial technology in operational and laboratory settings with the purpose of developing new tools and capabilities to help first responders prepare, protect, and respond to homeland security threats. This position is onsite in New York, NY or offsite with travel.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Gather and validate customer requirements and participate in technical and operational integrated product teams.
  • Assist in the development of test strategies for anticipated test activities and assist in the drafting of test planning documents.
  • Assist in the execution of tests, field assessments, and other test events, as well as collect and analyze test data and facilitate feedback sessions.
  • Assist with drafting and editing test reports and other technical documents.
  • Develop project documents such as project charters, project management plans and various reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in government test and evaluation of technology in operational and laboratory settings.
  • Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance and DHS Suitability.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Programmatic or management experience supporting DoD and/or DHS components (e.g., TSA, CBP, FPS, CISA, CWMD, USCG, ICE).
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment, demonstrate teamwork and initiative, and function productively in the face of new assignments and the re-prioritization of existing assignments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, targeting both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience working in technical and operational integrated product teams.
  • Ability to facilitate feedback discussions to effectively elicit inputs to data collection results.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating, documenting and producing follow up materials for collaborative meetings.
  • Excellent public speaking and ability to run effective group discussions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • An active Secret Security Clearance and DHS Suitability preferred.
